AI should multiply teachers,
not replace them.
I build AI tools that multiply what teachers can do, craft policies that keep everyone safe, and deliver CPD that leaves staff and students feeling empowered — not overwhelmed.
Not theory – Tested at scale.
For schools, MATs, and education leaders across the UK.
What I offer
Strategic, technical, and training support for schools adopting AI — grounded in years of doing it for real.
AI Strategy & Policy
A clear framework for AI adoption — not a ban, not a free-for-all, but what problem do we want AI to solve?
- Problem-first strategic approach — what should AI actually solve?
- Focus on alignment to UK GDPR, KCSIE, DfE guidance, and JCQ regulations
- What tools are available, what can we adapt?
- Approved tool lists with structured evaluation checklist
- Traffic-light student usage framework with scenario-level guidance
Data Compliance & DPIAs
Rigorous data protection for AI tools — including the ones your staff are already using.
- Support on AI High-risk DPIAs
- Audit against Jan 2026 DfE Generative AI product safety standards
- Sub-processor analysis (Vercel, Firebase, Vertex AI) with data residency mapping
- Emphasis on zero-retention enterprise API architecture on UK-based infrastructure
Staff & Student CPD
Practical AI training for everyone — from NQTs to governing bodies.
- Avoidance of "just another AI educational wrapper" approach
- Prompt engineering training using the C.T.C. framework
- Role-specific staff sessions (teaching, support, SLT)
- Focus on data protection and student safeguarding
- Impactful large-scale assemblies covering AI ethics, bias, academic integrity, and effective AI use
- Guidance on parent information sessions on responsible AI use at home & safeguarding
Google Workspace & Admin
Not a Google Partner — just deep hands-on practitioner expertise.
- Certified Google Super admin, guidance on configuration and user management
- Workflow automation and productivity tooling
- Guidance on integration with school MIS systems
- Independent advice focused on what actually works for schools
What I've built
I don't just advise on AI — I build production tools and deploy them to real students.
Learning Compass
Deployed school-wideSocratic tutoring platform for KS4/5
- Adaptive demand engine using Bloom's taxonomy to keep students in the zone of maximal learning
- Revision mode using SM2 revision strategies, Rosenshine's Principles and adaptive demand
- Safeguarding keyword detection and model flagging with auto-email alerts to DSL
- Mastery tracking, reading age adaptation, dyslexic font support, TTS/STT for SEND and EAL students
- Google Classroom integration, time-restricted
- Running costs as low as 2–4p per topic session
- A Socratic 1-to-1 tutor for every child
AutoMarker
Deployed school-wideAutomated GCSE/A-Level script marking
- A custom prompted LLM marker with accuracy of ±1–2% vs human markers (Physics)
- Batch processing with human-in-the-loop review protocol
- Standardisation support with exemplar scripts and examiner report integration
- Built-in cost estimation per marking run
- Maximising summative feedback
AutoFeedback
Deployed school-wideInstant formative feedback from images of student work
- Camera capture → AI-generated formative feedback in seconds
- Designed for rapid in-lesson pace — zero workflow disruption
- DPIA-assessed with full compliance documentation
- Maximising formative feedback
Transcriber
Standalone toolGDPR-compliant meeting transcription
- Converts audio recordings into structured minutes and action points
- Built for sensitive SLT and governor meetings
- High-accuracy offline processing
- Cutting staff workload → More time with students
About me
I started my career as an aerospace engineer before retraining as a teacher fifteen years ago. I'm currently Head of Physics and AI Lead at a large Cumbrian secondary school.
In my AI Lead role, I've built and deployed four + production AI tools to 1200+ students, authored school's comprehensive AI policy suite, delivered CPD to staff, students, and parents, and supported multiple primary schools across Cumbria. I have also authored formal AI policies covering safeguarding, data protection, academic integrity, and governance — with a structured evaluation checklist for AI tool procurement.
On the technical side, I understand both the engineering and the compliance frameworks that determine whether a school can actually use what gets built. Combining this with 15+ years of pedagogical experience has allowed me to leverage AI to maximum effect.
